In this 3-minute video, Dr. Cheung explains how honoring and being mindful of the food we eat makes us healthier. She offers seven practices for mindful eating — simple steps that we can take to maintain a healthier weight and live a happier life. We are what we eat — and how we eat it.

“Illegal Activity is an action-packed drama set in a rough housing estate in London, yet nothing on the block is quite how it seems. We follow Winston a street level dealer and his crew for one day, witnessing the devastating effect their trade has on the block. Society is crumbling, families unravel and desperation causes internal conflict. The need to satisfy this addiction spirals out of control. Police are closing in and are determined to infiltrate the hierarchy in an attempt to put a stop to this Illegal Activity.”

One example. When I spoke with someone at the Council and expressed concern that my mum was in danger when she walked down the stairs (due to banister being on right hand side and her right arm being out of use) they sent someone out the very next day to install a banister on the other side, so she would be safe when walking down the stairs.

Despite what you read in the papers or watch on the news, this is what the vast majority of people get, great service. It doesn’t make headlines though.

He wrote his first book in his breaks whilst sweeping floors at a factory. Since then he has gone on to write forty books, five multi-award-winning films, three stage plays (he was invited into the prestigious Royal Court writers Group) and hundreds of articles published in national magazines and broadsheets.

Geoff’s autobiography, Watch My Back, was adapted into a major motion picture, Clubbed. It premiered in London’s West End and Paris and was nominated for an award.

He has also adapted his first novel, Red Mist, into a feature film for cinema; Paddy Consadine and Jody Whittaker are signed on as leads.

Geoff’s third feature film for cinematic release, (Romans 12:20) has been optioned by The Tea Shop Film Company in London, and his latest stage play (Fragile) will premiere at the Belgrade Theatre, Coventry this year.

This is his latest showreel. It also includes some of the first scenes from Counting Backwards, a moving story, based on the life experiences of a friend of mine who was raped when she was 14. Counting Backwards will be released later in the year.

Last Christmas I thought, “righto, I need to up my game here” and sought out and bought the most difficult jigsaw puzzle in the world. She cracked it in no time at all.

You might be thinking, that doesnt look too difficult, no harder than the baked bean jigsaw for instance.

This one is quite dastardly as it’s double sided. Each piece has an identical image on the other side that is rotated by 90°.

She alighted the bus after doing some shopping and was walking home, when she slipped, on what we think was a patch of moss covered pavement.  She hit the deck and knew she was in trouble, the pain was excruciating.

She was crying out for help, yet people in their cars drove straight past her. I’ve seen the spot where she feel over and you’d have to have been blind not to have seen her on the pavement as you drove into her estate.  I’ve read news stories about people passing by others who are in need of help but you never imagine it will be your own mum whom it happens to.

I still cant get my head round it, people ignoring an elderly woman, whose lying on the pavement, screaming out for help and going into shock. Karma will take care of these people!

Thankfully some good samaritans eventually stopped and helped my mum to get home, call my sister (who is a nurse), get an ambulance etc.  These people have not come forward, whoever you are I pass on my eternal blessings to you.

Since then, other people have been nothing short of amazing. The NHS have done a sterling job, as have St Helens Council, Social Services, Age UK etc. Often you read about many of these organisations and a less than favourable picture is painted. This is the truth distorted. For the vast majority of people they do an amazing job, you rarely read about this though as it doesn’t make a great headline.

I’ve written a number of thankyou cards to the various people/groups listed as you have to recognise when a good job is done. It’s far too easy to just point fingers when things go wrong.

It’s going to be a long haul back to full fitness for my mum as the break was in a pretty bad place however she will have all her family supporting her and other support organisations, too make it as trouble free as it can be.
