shit happens - its a fact

Shit happens, its a fact. It would be lovely to live in a society where no crime occurs however that is unrealistic. Therefore we need to ensure that the bad people leave us alone.
I just heard a story about a place in Brighton being robbed due to the last person leaving the building not setting alarm and leaving door ajar. In some ways its good that they were the last person out as imagine if the thief had ventured into the building and discovered a lone person still working. the outcome may not have been very pleasant.
The best defences in the world are prone to failure from the weakest link in the chain, in this case a single person.

Are you sure it was not a set up? How could someone forget to set the alarm AND leave the door ajar? Possibly if you had early onset dementia or maybe totally slaughtered? Unlikely.

That’s for others to decide, I only recount what I was told. It doesnt really interest me whether it was a set-up or not only that this example shows that any system, no matter how great it is, can be let down by the weakest link, which is often people.
