ibar provides a platform for new music

By Mike Ashworth | June 15, 2009

A neat idea for putting your music in front of people.

An interactive bar in the UK is designed to introduce people to new music, and promote local artists/breakthrough acts.

At the ibar people can queue-up music for free, and control it from their iPod/iPhone as well as the plasmas.

The bar has an electronic bias, but anything goes really. If it’s good they’ll put it up, the bar filters the music down by genre/style at night time to fit with whatever is going on. Things which bend genres/are without a category are especially welcome.

The next step will be to let people buy any music they hear with one click, the artist getting 70% royalties and no record company required
