Red Riding

By Mike Ashworth | May 5, 2009

Red Riding was a 3 part TV series based on David Peace’s cult noir novels. It’s been hailed as THE drama of 2009 and I tend to agree, its fantastic.

The three feature-length films are set in Yorkshire during the 1970s and 80s - a time of paranoia, mistrust, corruption and the terrifying legacy of the Ripper murders.

The series features the following actors:

Mark Addy (The Full Monty), Sean Bean (The Lord of the Rings), Jim Carter (Cranford), Warren Clarke (Dalziel & Pascoe), Paddy Considine (Dead Man’s Shoes), Rebecca Hall (Vicky Cristina Barcelona), Sean Harris (24 Hour Party People), John Henshaw (Early Doors), Gerard Kearns (Shameless), Eddie Marsan (Vera Drake), David Morrissey (The Deal), Daniel Mays (White Girl), Peter Mullan (Boy A), Maxine Peake (Shameless), Saskia Reeves (The Fixer) and Lesley Sharp (Afterlife)… Read more

But beware if you are looking for something nice and twee, forget it as the Red Riding is dark, brutal, shocking and disturbing yet, immensely compelling!

you can catch them again on 4OD
